What a night...

Tammin

Fave memory:

I had the best night! It was all about what to wear and who to go with. I had a boyfriend at the time, so I went with him...it was all very easy.

I wore:

A strapless red dress, silver shoes, my hair straightened and red lipstick. It was like a Logies dress. I'd still wear it now.

Disaster zone:

At my Year 11 formal, the person I was going with didn't turn up to my house. He was still at work when I had to be there and I was all in a tizzy!

Expectations:

I had a really fun night, but it wasn't as good as I expected, because my expectations were so high and we'd waited so long for the night to come.

Funny stuff:

I wore dog collars and leather to my Year 11 formal, because I went as Cat Woman!

Dream date:

The personality has to count, but I'd love to take Brad Pitt or Josh Hartnett.

My advice:

The least you expect, the more you'll get. But you have to make sure you take care of the little things-like making sure your dress fits properly-because that kind of thing can ruin a night.

Style tips:

Be prepared. Make sure you have spare stockings and lipstick.

Why the formal-mania?

Before your wedding, it's the first time you get to dress up. It's the first planned evening you'll get to have with all of your friends.

Fave memory:

I was so excited, it was the first occasion when I really had to get dressed up. I didn't know too many people there, because I went with a friend who was in Year 10 [ I was in Year Eight ], but it was really good fun.

I wore:

A long black dress with silver sparkles through it, and very high silver shoes. My hair was out and curly.

Expectations:

I had no idea what it would be like, so I just went along with it.

Dream date:

Beau Brady!

My advice:

Enjoy the whole preparation, because that's all part of the fun-getting dressed up and doing the whole girlie thing. And get ideas about what you like early so you're not stressing about how to do your hair at the last minute.

Style tips:

Do something different. If you always wear your hair out and straight, have it up and curly to feel super special!

Why the formal-mania?

It's like a younger version of being at a nightclub. It's all about getting dressed up and feeling really pretty. And it's exciting because boys are involved!
